Founding Vision
OOSTEAM PEI was born from a passion to inspire the next generation of Islanders. Recognizing the growing importance of science, technology, engineering, arts, and math in shaping the future, we set out to create opportunities where young minds, aged 2 to 18, could discover their potential in these fields.

The STEAM Story

Our story begins with Amber Jadis, an engineer and mother, who, after years in the field, realized that children — especially in PEI — had limited opportunities to explore STEM and Art from an early age
Our Mission
Our journey began with a simple yet powerful goal: to make STEAM learning accessible, engaging, and fun.
"It's more than the surface-level subjects of science, technology, engineering, art and math. STEAM is an avenue through which to practice problem-solving, critical thinking, creativity, persistence, collaboration, and communication – and those are the skills I really want to see our young ones building!"
— Amber Jadis, CEO and founder, STEAM PEI
Growth & Programs
Determined to change this, she made it her mission to bring hands-on, engaging learning experiences to Island kids.
What started as a simple idea has grown into a thriving organization dedicated to fostering curiosity, creativity, and innovation.

Through hands-on workshops, innovative programs, and meaningful community partnerships, STEAM PEI has become a hub of experiential learning. From coding robots to building structures and exploring the wonders of nature, every activity is designed to nurture curiosity
Lasting Impact
Today, STEAM PEI continues to empower young learners, helping them see themselves as future scientists, engineers, artists, and problem-solvers.
At our core, we believe that every child deserves the opportunity to see themselves as a scientist, inventor, engineer, or artist. By fostering a love for learning, we aim to inspire young Islanders to pursue careers in STEAM fields, equipping them to lead and innovate in tomorrow's world.

Our story is one of hope, collaboration, and a steadfast commitment to shaping a brighter future—one curious mind at a time
Amber Jadis
CEO and Founder
With 15 years of mechanical engineering experience, Amber left her corporate career in 2018 to pursue her true calling — education. As a mother of two, she had seen firsthand PEI's need for hands-on STEAM programs.
Her vision grew STEAM PEI from basement workshops into a 5,000 sq ft makerspace serving over 2,000 youth annually. Amber was awarded the PEI Innovation in Education Award in 2023 and spoke nationally about experiential learning.

“The moment I saw a shy 7-year-old girl light up after programming her first robot, I knew that had been my life’s work.”
Thanks to our Funders
