Ignite curiosity and creativity with our exciting STEAM Afterschool Program located at the STEAM PEI Makerspace! Designed for students who love to explore, create, and discover, each day of the week focuses on a different aspect of STEAM—Science Mondays, Technology Tuesdays, Engineering Wednesdays, Arts Thursdays, and Math Fridays.
Summerside
Located at Athena Consolidated School and following the school calendar, this hands-on program is led by experienced, highly qualified educators who bring learning to life through engaging projects, experiments, challenges, and creative activities. Running daily afterschool, every week offers new opportunities for students to build skills, make friends, and have fun while developing a lifelong love of learning. Open to students in grades K-6 and busing is available from surrounding schools.
Makerspace Club
Makerspace Club (Gr.4-9)
The Makerspace Club is a 8-week evening adventure where young makers get hands-on, creative, and curious. If you love building, experimenting, or trying new ideas, this is your space! Through fun group challenges and hands-on workshops, you’ll design, tinker, and create while building confidence and perseverance.
Chess PEI Club
Chess PEI Club: Introduction to Chess (Gr 4-8)
Join us for an introductory chess course designed for students looking to learn the basics or gear up for pre-tournament play. Hosted at The Makerspace (149 Mount Edward Road), participants will cover core chess strategies and have the unique opportunity to play against course instructor Jorge Moreno, a two-time PEI provincial champion and top-ranked player in Atlantic Canada.

Girls in Clean Tech After School Program
Join us for an exciting 8-week program for girls in Grades 7–12 where you’ll explore clean technology, tackle real-world climate challenges, and discover the many careers connected to creating a more sustainable future. Through hands-on experiments, research, design challenges, data analysis, creative projects, and conversations with professionals, you’ll get a behind-the-scenes look at how people use STEM skills to solve environmental problems.
We are looking for passionate individuals to help us inspire the next generation of innovators. Explore our current opportunities and become a part of the STEAM PEI community.
OOSTEAM PEI also offers themed after-school programs that bring hands-on STEAM learning directly to schools. Programs vary each semester, last 6-8 weeks and introduce activities designed to spark creativity and critical thinking.

STEAM PEI had the pleasure of delivering these 6 after school programs over the years at more than 30 schools on PEI, reaching almost 300 students last year!
